About a month ago I picked up my "old school" 1993 Class C RV after they did an engine and transmission swap for me. They removed a severely underpowered Chevy 350 ci engine and replaced it with a 6.2 liter LS3 (the vehicle went from approximately 210 hp to 460 hp). They also replaced my old 4L80E four speed trans with a 6L90E 22,000-pound capacity trans. The trans is extremely smooth. 1st through 4th gears roar and 5th and 6th gear purr like a kitten and the RPM's drop down very nicely for cruising. This RV is now a monster. It took approximately seven months to complete this work which I thought was very reasonable given the extensiveness of the job. I thought the price I paid was also reasonable. Richard was extremely responsive during the entire build time. Only once did he take more than a day to respond to my queries, and most of the time it was the same day. I've read through many of the other positive reviews and I honestly don't see how he does it. He manages a very busy shop, and there were a lot of vehicles in the shop when I dropped it off last July 2025, and there were still a lot of vehicles when I picked it up about four weeks ago. I can't say enough good things about these guys, especially Jose Moreno, who I think did a good bit or most of the swap. Jose really cares about his work, and when I got there to pick up the vehicle, Jose and Richard walked me through everything at that time; they even had the vehicle up on the lift so when I arrived for the pickup, I could look at everything underneath. Give them time to complete their work and I don't think you'll be disappointed. It's been my dream to "hot rod" this classic RV and my expectations were exceeded. I'll definitely be going back to them for more work in the future as I continue to improve this vehicle.Posted on Google caleb HairTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had extensive repairs done to my brakes and rotors, coolant reservoir, purge valve and extreme time constraints, from the moment they diagnosed the issues with my car, gave me a quote, and when I had approved the repairs they ordered the parts and completed the work in less than 5 hours which is nothing short of a logistical masterpiece, I am impressed and I will be getting ALL of my future auto repairs done there from here onwards.Posted on Google Hannah RodarteTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Probably the best experience I’ve had at a mechanic shop. Richard and Charlie were prompt in their responses when I would text them. They answered all my questions without making me feel like I was bothering them. They took the time to look at my Nissan Titan carefully and they serviced my truck right away. The pricing was fair and reasonable. I’ve already sent my mom to them and will recommend THE to anyone who needs a mechanic!Posted on Google Micah VealeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. After just one experience here I’ve decided THE Technicians LLC is where I’ll have all my mechanic work done for as long as I’m in Kyle and they’re still open. I’ve had a lot of bad ex-mechanics and it’s so refreshing to finally have a phenomenal experience for once. Dropped off my 2007 Solara in pretty rough shape, and started to explain the situation and all the unknowns to Richard before he stopped me and reassured me he’d figure out everything that was wrong and then see which parts I’d like to have fixed. Not in a way that was rude, in a way I actually personally appreciated. Dropped off on a Tuesday evening, by Wednesday evening I had an itemized list of everything wrong or needed, and parts on the way as soon as I approved which pieces of work I wanted done. By Thursday evening everything was finished and ready to be picked up. Before pickup Richard texted me that it was “running like a Toyota again,” and tentatively I held back on getting too excited because the price I’d paid, somehow also including 4 new tires, wasn’t really any more than I’d expect to pay on an average trip to the mechanic for our 2018 Accord for a check engine light that required some work and parts. The Solara I dropped off needed a lot of love, but I hadn’t paid above or beyond what I have for any previous work in the past that still left those same issues persisting; squeaky belts, a bad motor mount causing some shaking and rattling, just a general sense that the car wasn’t completely healthy in the way it should be. Richard was being modest. I think this car might be running smoother and cleaner than it was the day I bought it 5 years ago. It just feels together and smooth in a way that it hasn’t in a couple of years now, ways I didn’t really know how to ask the mechanic about before, or else wasn’t ever quoted a reasonable price I could justify putting down. A++ work for a phenomenal price. Work done: 5/5 Transparency: 5/5 Communication: 5/5 Speed of turnaround: 5/5 Pricing: 6/5 Togetherness/Officialness: 2.5/5 The sole criticism I have is only regarding the sort of put-togetherness of the experience- the garage didn’t have a sign that I could find, and it was a little hard to figure out where I was supposed to go. It was also kind of off putting that I didn’t get any sort of receipt when I dropped off, just a head nod and leaving my keys in a guys’ hand I’d just met. In hindsight I know that if I’d thought to ask Richard definitely would have given me something before I left, but without thinking to ask, I probably would have been a little sketched out if I hadn’t of had a personal friend recommend me here that I trusted. That person did in fact end up being right, though. Highly recommend 👍🏼Posted on Google Holly Beard (Hollis)Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great engine/desiel mechanic, also graduated UTT National with many offers but He decided to go localPosted on Google Kacey WTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Richard and his team took care of my 2016 RAV4 Hybrid - oil change, transmission fluid change, and an aftermarket A/C vent install for rear A/C vents. Honest and straightforward. I highly recommend and plan on returning for future automotive needs. Thanks Richard!Posted on Google Joshua HairTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
